#TempranilloTuesday: Matchbook Dunnigan Hills Tempranillo 2013
Today we’re cracking open a bottle of Matchbook Dunnigan Hills Tempranillo 2013. Situated in California’s Central Valley, Matchbook Wine Company has found the perfect Northern California climate to grow many distinguished varietals. To get this blend, they use both estate grown Ribera Del Duero and Tinta de Toro vines and then use the traditional Rioja blending grape, Graciano. On the nose you’re getting ripe raspberry and rich plum, which leads to flavors of earth, spicy cardamom and dark fruit on the palate. This wine is smooth and has a bright finish. Would pair just as well with pork or lamb as it would with a spicy paella. At around $15 a bottle, this is a great value wine. What do you think of this wine?
